Marie-Madeleine Matte

Name: Marie-Madelaine (6.2, 1, -1)       • Sex: F

  • Birth: February 9, 1685 in Dombourg, Quebec, Canada

    • Baptism: February 11 in the parish of St. Francois de Sales, Lordship of Dombourg, Quebec, Canada.

The father and the godmother signed, the godfather saying did not know how to write

  Sponsor: Guillaume Lefebvre. Owner of lot 9, no relationship with the godmother. Marries Catherine Damien on October 18, 1685, dies on December 18. 1687.

    Godmother: Marie Lefebvre dit Angé (Angers) wife of Pierre Voyer next to Nicolas. She appears as an ancestor of Pauline Marois, Premier of Quebec.

    Priest: Jean. Pinguet, native of the country, aged 27, serves the seigniory of Neuville called the Pointe-Aux-Trembles, the Saint-Ange coast, Pointe-Aux-Écureux, Portneuf (Cap Sante), and Deschambault. He died on March 20, 1715, at the age of 60. He was then canon of the cathedral of Quebec where he was buried in the choir of the church.

Marriage : August 17, 1703, she is 18 years old and he is 28 years old. Noël Pelletier was born on December 5, 1675 and died on May 23, 1748 to 73 years old.                            J. Basset priest of Neuville

Biography 

Like her sister, she stays at the Hôtel de Dieu in Quebec City. She enters on January 24, 1702

                      then comes out on the 30th. She is 16 years old

On August 17, 1703, she is 18 years old. She married Noël Pelletier, 28, son of Pierre and Françoise Louchet or Trochet dit Richard. Françoise, a native of Berry, is the widow of Francois Matoret of St. Aignan. She arrived on the same boat as Madeleine Auvray. She married on December 10, 1671 with Pierre Pelletier. Noel was born December 5, 1675, was baptized on December 6 in the Cathedral Notre-Dame of Quebec. For Noel, it's his 2nd wedding, because Marie-Angelique Garnier died February 2, 1703 with 2 children, one of 3 years and one of 6 months (Noel* & Marie-Madeleine). He is indicated he was a militia captain. Their son, Noël, at  60-year-olds, participates as a lieutenant of the 2nd company during the Battle of Neuville, August 8, 1759. He then owns lot 224 which corresponds to 1225 route 138, currently. A land inherited from his father Pierre. At the census of 1681, it has 13 arpents in value and 2 horned

Wedding Marie-Madelaine & Noel Pelletier

Just like with her brothers and sisters, she made a release with her brother Nicolas   (5.2, 1, -1). We found this notarial act, but the notary Honoré de la Neuville does not   have easy writing and the state of the document makes the reading illegible.

3. François-De-Sales PELLETIER born Sep. 16, 1708 in Neuville, Portneuf, Quebec. Named on the seventeenth Sep.      Sponsor: Françoise Proulx              Godmother: Anne Matte

1st marriage: Neuville January 7, 1732 with Marguerite Léveillée2nd marriage: Married Saint-Jean-Baptiste Parish of Ecureuils with Francoise Larue May 17, 1745. Died September 28, 1758 at 50 years. Buried in Ecureuils

4. Marie Françoise PELLETIER born on Feb. 13, 1711 in Neuville, Portneuf.

    Wedding: Francois Letellier, August 26, 1743. He married on the 25th january 1740 with Marie-Josephte Larrivee

5. Marie Angelique PELLETIER born Jan. 6, 1713 in Neuville, Portneuf, Quebec.

Baptizes Jan. 7      Godfather: Étienne Magnan          Godmother: Angelique Matte

Wedding :1st : Pierre Gaude at 27, navigator, January 25, 1733 in Quebec City, Angelique at 20

2nd : Jean-Baptiste Chevalier at 25 years old. Dealer, September 12, 1740. In Quebec. Angelique is 27 years old.

      Death: September 26, 1758 at age 45.

6. Antoine (de padoue) PELLETIER born 22 Dec 1714 at Neuville, Portneuf, Quebec.  

Christening on Jan. 22nd.   Godfather: Antoine Delisle  Godmother: Anne Léonard

  Wedding :   1st: Marie-Jeanne Tessier at 18, the 2nd

        July at Ste. Anne-de-la-Perade. Antoine at 28 years old

  2nd: Marie-Madeleine Langlois, native of St-Pierre, St. Laurent County, at age 31, October 10, 1757, in Neuville. Antoine at 43 years old. Witness Pierre Langlois and Madeleine Godbout

Death: 25 Jan 1767 in Neuville at age 53, buried on the 28th due to the indisposition of the priest.

Cause drops tympanites. Priest: Chartier de Lotbiniere

7.  Marie Josephte PELLETIER born 14 Jul 1716 in Neuville, Portneuf, Quebec.

Sponsor: Jacques Fournel        Godmother: Catherine Coutancineau

Marriage: Jacques Joseph Fournel at age 26, August 20, 1736 in Neuville. He remarried on January 13, 1753 with Anne-Jeanne Poirier on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. They will be buried both in Neuville.

Death: February 27, 1745 at the age of 29 in Neuville with 4 children, one of 7 years old and another of 5 years   

            old, one of 3  years and one of 15 months.

Death: The wife of Joseph Quirion, March 16, 1775 to 56 years or so, burial on 17th in Ecureuils. He remarried on September 25, 1775 with Geneviève Rousseau in Neuville

Marriage: Jean Baptiste Matte, her cousin,  son of Nicolas Matte and late Marie-Angelique-Louise Coquin on April 27, 1750. He is 33 years old and she is 31 years old. He remarried on January 23, 1758 with Françoise Gariepy in the parish of St. Jean Baptiste located in Donnacona.

Death: Feb. 25, 1757 at Pointe-Aux-Trembles, Portneuf, PQ. at 38 after 4 children, 2 of whom died.

10.  Louise Angelique PELLETIER born 23 Jan. 1722 in      Neuville, Portneuf, Quebec. Baptized on the 24th.

Sponsor: François Hazeur, signed Louis Hazeur  Desmaraits     Godmother: Angelique Gaspé

Marriage: 1st:  October 30, 1741 in Quebec with Pierre    Grenet. He is 26 years old and she is 19 years old. She has 2 children

2nd : November 11, 1759 at the Ste. Anne de la Pérade with Pierre Dussault (Dufault), trader. He is 39, she is 37 years old. He remarried on November 20, 1769 with Angelique Dufour in Quebec City.

  Death: May 12, 1769 aged 47 in Quebec

11. Marie Félicitée PELLETIER born Feb.4, 1724 in Neuville, Portneuf, Quebec. Baptized on the 5th.

Marriage : September 3, 1742 in Neuville with Jean Baptiste Gaudet. He is 26 years old and she is 18 years old

Death : August 23, 1768 to 44 years old in Quebec.

12. Marie Thérèse PELLETIER born Feb. 8, 1727 in Neuville, Portneuf, Quebec.

Godfather : Jean-Baptiste Langlois          Godmother : Thérèse Matte

    Marriage : February 14, 1752 at Ste. Francois-du-Lac with Pierre Couturier.  He is 41 years old and she  25.
